Deep Level Stope Stability Assessment

Ontario, Canada

Completed a three-dimensional FLAC3D stress analysis for a deep mining operation examining Life of Mine (LOM) issues and opportunities. Evaluated the mining sequence options to minimise stress-driven risks while also improving the productive capacity of the mine plan.

Key Outcomes

  • Identified critical mining sequence to reduce pillar overstress
  • Provided defensible input for stope dimension optimisation
  • Reduced unplanned dilution risk through sequence modification
Ground Support Design Review

Ground Support Design

Ground Support Design Review

Ontario, Canada

Reviewed and updated the ground support standards for a deep mining operation. Assessed existing support performance and designed a simplified and enhanced design for development headings and intersections with a focus on dynamic capacity, intallation efficiency, and cost.

Key Outcomes

  • Updated support standards for seismically active ground conditions
  • Specified dynamic-capable support elements for high-risk headings
  • Delivered revised GCMP section for regulatory submission
