Deep Level Stope Stability Assessment

Ontario, Canada

Completed a three-dimensional FLAC3D stress analysis for a deep mining operation examining Life of Mine (LOM) issues and opportunities. Evaluated the mining sequence options to minimise stress-driven risks while also improving the productive capacity of the mine plan.

Identified critical mining sequence to reduce pillar overstress
Provided defensible input for stope dimension optimisation
Reduced unplanned dilution risk through sequence modification

Ground Support Design

Ground Support Design Review

Ontario, Canada

Reviewed and updated the ground support standards for a deep mining operation. Assessed existing support performance and designed a simplified and enhanced design for development headings and intersections with a focus on dynamic capacity, intallation efficiency, and cost.

Updated support standards for seismically active ground conditions
Specified dynamic-capable support elements for high-risk headings
Delivered revised GCMP section for regulatory submission
